God the Father is Jehovah, the spiritual body of the only supreme being, the only Deity in existence, the Father of the Lights (see Lecture on Faith 2:2).
The single unique Deity is mentioned in Moses 2.1: “I am ... the almighty God” and in 3 Nephi 4:32 wherein “they did cry: Hosanna to the Most High God. And they did cry: Blessed be the name of the Lord God Almighty, the Most High God.” The “O Mighty God” Joseph Smith prays to in D&C 109: 68. This High God, the Deity, sustains the lesser gods (as Michael Hesier puts it) in a Divine Council. Thus, as early as 1839, Joseph Smith spoke of “the Council of the Eternal God of all other gods before this world was” (D&C 121: 32). This Eternal God is the Deity of Lecture 2:2. This Deity is the Lord God in Abraham 3: 19, 21, where the Lord explains that among his formations if “there are two spirits, one being more intelligent than the other; there shall be another more intelligent than they; I am the Lord thy God, I am more intelligent than they all. … I dwell in the midst of them all; …my wisdom excelleth them all, for I rule in the heavens above, and in the earth beneath, in all wisdom and prudence, over all the intelligences …” The Word/Logos of John 1:1 and Moses 1:32 is then mentioned in a subsequent verse in Abraham 3:24: “And there stood one [the Word/Logos] among them [among the intelligences] that was like unto God …” So anytime I use the word “God” or “Deity” I mean the only supreme being, the Deity of Lecture 2:2, the Lord thy God above and over the intelligences in Abraham 3: 19, 21, and the Eternal God of all other lesser gods in D&C 121: 32.
Jesus as the Twin Genome of Jehovah’s body composed of nooma (spirit-matter) which is a supernatural body as a Divine Genome containing the Seed/DNA of Immortality that generates Eternal Lives (Theosis): Christ is the "only begotten," meaning the unique gene/kind of Jehovah's Kind, the direct seed/sperma (DNA) of the supernatural body of Jehovah; thus, Jesus is God the Father's identical twin or duplicate gene/kind, and they are the same "God" as the same bodily template or prototype as the same Divine Genome. Note that Jesus is not a clone of Jehovah but more like a twin in a way. As this article by Luis Villazon explains it:
Identical twins have the same DNA as each other, but different from their parents. A clone, however, only has one parent and has exactly the same DNA as that parent.
So I think that LDS Scripture is presenting Jesus as the genetic twin of Jehovah (who is a body of spirit/personage of spirit). I like the word twin as well because websters’ online defines the word twin as meaning not just genetic twins but also meaning: “one of two persons or things closely related to or resembling each other”; and also defines twin as:
2 a : made up of two similar, related, or connected members or parts : DOUBLE
b : paired in a close or necessary relationship : MATCHING
…
1 : to bring together in close association : COUPLE
2 : DUPLICATE, MATCH
Joseph Smith's scriptures and First Vision versions make it clear that Jesus and the Father “[resemble] each other" as basically a "double" or "duplicate," the "express image" of the other as the Fifth Lecture on Faith puts it. So Jesus is basically a double of Jehovah, a duplicate, and so they resemble each other exactly and thus they can be said to be supernatural “twins” so to speak.
So the earth-born Jesus is basically a body double of Jehovah’s body or personage of spirit. The noomatic body of Jehovah was formed through God's omniscient foresight of Jesus’ future birth. In other words, the Deity of Lecture 2 foresaw the birth of Jesus on earth and so the Deity formed for himself a supernatural noomatic body (a personage of spirit-matter/nooma) which bodily personage was an identical twin image (an exact copy or replica in noomatic form) of the not yet born Jesus of Nazareth (that would later be born from Mary). This body/personage of spirit-matter (nooma) is the body of Father-Jehovah, i.e. the body of the Deity. Jesus of Nazareth as a body of flesh (born human) is God by way of being God’s duplicate Divine Genome; thus Jesus is an exact copy of God and thus the same God but in the flesh in a human form: as he was “conceived by the power of God" (as Mosiah 15 puts it), meaning he was implanted with the DNA of Jehovah’s supernatural body of spirit-matter in the womb of Mary, so that Jesus has divine DNA in his earthly body; and so Mosiah 15 explains that Jesus is called the Son because of the flesh but is also the Father because he was concieved by God's power and is basically a genomic duplicate of the Father-Jehovah; thus "becoming the Father [as the Deity’s Duplicate Genome] and [the] Son [as God's Gene in duplicate human form]—And they are one God [a duplicate Divine Gene], yea, [the prototype image of Jesus, see Lecture 7 is] the very Eternal Father of heaven and of earth” (Mosiah 15: 3-4, words in brackets my own). As Colossians 2:9 puts it (from the Expanded Bible translation):
All of God lives fully in Christ [For in him all the fullness of deity dwells] in a human body [bodily; embodied]
This is why in the Fifth Lecture on Faith, Question 10 states (emphasis added):
Does he [Jesus] possess the fulness of the Father [a personage/body of spirit]?
He does. Colossians 1:19: For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell. [2:9]: For in him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. Ephesians 1:23: Which is his [Christ's] body, the fulness of him that fills all in all.
Jesus of Nazareth is also the Word/Logos (see John 1:1, Moses 1:32; Abraham 3:24), and thus Jesus prays as the Logos to the Deity (Father-Jehovah); and yet as a twin duplicate of the Father-Jehovah’s personage of spirit, Jesus says in John 14:8-10 (RSV):
8 Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and we shall be satisfied.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you do not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father who dwells in me does his works.
If you see Jesus you see the Father because they are a twin duplicate of each other. This is why Joseph Smith edited the JST, Luke 22/23 and JST John 1; and it's why in the Wentworth Letter on the First Vision that Joseph Smith says the Father and Son have the exact same features and likeness.
Because Christ is the identical twin image (genome/species) of the Father -- the only being (only kind or genus) with Jehovah's exact unique genes (as the only begotten kind/species of Jehovah) and has the Father's exact features -- then Christ is the Father, as his identical twin as they are the same genome. For, only Christ is the unique divine gene of Jehovah in the flesh; and so if you've seen one of them you've basically seen the other.
Although Jesus is a unique and separate person and personality from the Father, being born a human with human experiences, while the Father-Jehovah is a personage of spirit, glory and power (i.e. a noomatic body). Pneuma ("Nooma") is a material substance as if refined "spirit matter" that like the wind can flow everywhere and as liquid energy can be poured into persons. So that Christ's humanistic flesh (Adamic body) is eventually swallowed up (filled with) the nooma (see Mosiah 15) through the "baptism of fire": meaning the noomatic transformation into a noomatic body through the refiner's fire and resurrection process (see 1 Corinthians 15 in David Bentley Harts' translation).
The New Testament explains that "no one has seen the Father" except through the personage of the Son, because human eyes cannot see a noomatic being; only a noomatic being can see another noomatic being, or when a human mortal sees a noomatic being in a visionary state (theophany or vision, i.e. " being carried away in the spirit/nooma.").
For example, Moses sees Jehovah face to face in a visionary state and his physical being has to be transfigured in order for him to even survive: “. . . no man can behold all my glory, and afterwards remain the flesh on the earth,” God explains (Moses 1:5). In Moses 1:13–14, a being without a glorious noomatic body is compared to a natural man without divine glory. Seeing the Father's glorious personage of spirit (noomatic body) causes Moses' countenance shines as a result; but it wears off because Moses did not receive a complete "fullness" of the nooma.
Similar to, though not the same process we see with Moses, Christ becomes fully one with the Father through s Christ being filled with a Fullness of Divine Light, which swallows up his flesh nature (see Mosiah 15). LDS Christians are to undergo a similar process of noomatic divination (theosis), which is why C.S. Lewis said "... the Church exists for nothing else but to draw men into Christ, to make them little Christs." So similar to but not exactly the same as Christ's full divination from a flesh body to being swallowed up (filled) by divine nooma, LDS Christians are also literally filled with God's fluid nooma (i.e. Mind/Spirit; Glory; Power) as we see in Lectures on Faith sections 5 & 7. Yet LDS Christians are different from Christ as they are not the "only begotten" (the unique gene of Jehovah); so they have to be adopted into the Divine Family of Noomatic Beings in Jehovah's Divine Council (see Abraham 3); while Christ is literally the Father (the identical Genome of the Father) and is the Son (born into flesh) as the "only begotten" of Jehovah, i.e. Jesus is the only unique Gene (Kind/Genus) of Jehovah (as Michael Heiser explains). So the Christians is adopted into the Family of Noomatic Beings (Jehovah and His Elohim/Council of gods, as Heiser puts it) because of Christ donating his divine DNA to them; thus the emphasis on grace or reciprocal gratitude for such a powerful gift by returning the favor to God through Christians "loving one another" as reciprocal gratitude for and as showing gratitude for the noomatic donation (see 1 John 4: 20).
Key Words to Understand the LDS Scriptures are: Shed forth, Pour(ed), Fullness and Fill(ed):
Christ is born as God's only unique divine genome in the flesh and then the nooma fully transforms his fleshy body into a noomatic body at his resurrection when he becomes a "life giving spirit" (immortality granting nooma). Then, God's nooma as a fluid energy carrying Christ's faithfulness (i.e. his having perfectly fulfilled the Law Code) and his divine DNA is implanted into (poured into) Christians at their baptism; and thus they are redeemed (deified or exalted with an implanted noomatic body) by the grace (a gracious gift or donation) of Christ. So that Christ came that we might have Noomatic Life in eternal abundance (see John 10:10).
The scripture, "Father make them one as we are one," means one in fullness of nooma. Nooma is like the flowing sap in a Vine that feeds the Branches and produces the grapes that becomes wine as a liquid that fills people and changes their consciousness; as the Father of Lights, through the Light of Christ, is like a shining tree of white-lighted fruit (see Lehi's Dream) and faith (as "a principle of action" per Lecture #1) is like a seed that implants the Tree of Life (in Alma 32), a metaphor for the implanting of a noomatic body that is of a higher glory (D&C 76) and shines like stars through ones' shining good deeds (Matt. 5:16) and shining countenance (as described all throughout the Book of Mormon): as in one's countenance is like ripe fruit peelings full of Divine Life as opposed to dying or rotting fruit peelings that decay and becomes "blackened" in appearance as the Life in the fruit slips away; which I cover in more detail in my document here.
