Restored Truth Channel on the LDS Godhead

 

I have been watching the YouTube Channel Restored Truth in 2025. After watching "An EO and non denominational Christians chat with a Mormon" on YouTube, I noticed at 23-25, and 31-37 minutes, that this young LDS gentleman basically argues a view very similar to my Godhead theory but in his own way. In this episode he basically argues that D&C 93 and the Book of Abraham basically teach that God the Father is the Highest Spirit (as Elyon (or El Elyon) among the lesser spirits (intelligences). In another episode I heard him say that the Logos is the imprint of God (which I discuss here) but he doesn't elaborate on what he means by imprint. But he does say basically that the Logos was eternal with El Elyon and on earth the Logos becomes the only begotten of the Father (El Elyon) and is thus the Firstborn. In previous podcasts he discusses the Old Testament verses below in order to argue that the Trinity, according to the Bible, is best understood as the Father being the God Elyon (the God Most High) who gives to Yahweh (or Jehovah) the people of Israel to rule over as their God. 


Deuteronomy 32:8-9 (RSV):

8 When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance,

    when he separated the sons of men,

he fixed the bounds of the peoples

    according to the number of the sons of God.[a]

9 For the Lord’s portion is his people,

    Jacob his allotted heritage.

If we then go to Luke 6:35 (TLV) we read:

“But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return.[a] Then your reward will be great and you will be sons of Elyon, for He is kind to the ungrateful and evil ones.

Thus, just as Michael Heiser teaches, Christians become gods through theosis, and thus join the "divine council" of Elyon (mentioned in Psalm 82:1); which is why Paul says to Christians that they will even "judge angels" ("messengers" from the divine council). In other words, as Paul says to Christians in Romans 8: 16-18, that if they suffer as Christians for the gospel, they will be literal children of Theo (i.e. the Supreme God), or Elyon, "and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ" (Romans 8:17 RSV). Thus Christians move from biologically "children of Adam" to reborn children of Elyon (by joining the divine council as gods) after they are donated the divine DNA of Elyon through the grace-gift of the DNA of Christ the Logos (as the Monogene of Elyon). For Christ, as the only one with Elyon's duplicate genome, then implants the image/DNA of Elyon into them making them heirs of the very throne of God (see Luke 22:30; Revelation 3:21; 5:10; 20:4), which enthronement is inherited by "sharing the divine nature" (2 Peter 1:4) with Christ, since they share his DNA by divine adoption into the family of the Elohim (Gods). 


So what I have found so far is that the Restored Truth YouTube channel, teaches a concept of the LDS Godhead that aligns very close with my own. His exegesis of the Most High God (El Elyon) being God the Father aligns with my interpretation of the original LDS doctrine in the Lectures on Faith, wherein the Supreme Being in Lecture 2 would be El Elyon as the Father of lights. The lights would be the spirits (intelligences) discussed in the Book of Abraham (I will discuss below).


 From this perspective, how I see it is that while Elyon gives Jehovah his people (Israel), and Elyon and Jehovah appear as seperate beings, this is because Elyon is the omnipresent Supreme Being (the Deity) of Lecture 2: who gives to the Angel of the Lord (the Deity's personage or bodily form per Lecture 5) the allottment of Israel. In this case, as I see it, in Deuteronomy 32 it is Elyon giving to the Logos the people of Israel. This interpretation is corroborated by Abraham 3, for it would be Elyon who is the most intelligent Spirit among the spirits, as we read: "I am the Lord thy God [i.e. Elyon], I am more intelligent than they all" (Abraham 3:19). D&C 121:32 supports this interpretation by stating: 

According to that which was ordained in the midst of the Council of the Eternal God [i.e. El Elyon] of all other gods before this world was, ....

What Abraham 3 calls spirits, D&C 121:32 calls gods, and then in Abraham 4 these selected spirits (now Gods) form earth. So Deuteronmy 32 and D&C 121:32 (quoted above) are then explaimed by Abraham 3. First, note that Elyon is the "Eternal God" of D&C 121:32, and the "gods before the world was" in this verse, would include the Logos as a divine part of Elyon as the word of his power per Moses 1:32. So that when we look at Abraham 3, beginning at verse 23, it describes the spirits among the Supreme Spirit (i.e. Elyon), and among those spirits (or gods) is clearly the Logos, who is said to be basically unique as one who "was like unto God" (verse 24, compare Moses 1:6, 32, which I will discuss below). Then Abraham 3: 27 says, "And the Lord [i.e. Elyon] said: Whom shall I send? And one answered like unto the Son of Man: Here am I, send me." The Logos would be the one like unto the Son of Man, for "Son of Man" here means the Logos's earthly form as the Messiah; so as a pre-flesh spirit (or the word of Elyon's power) the Logos is like unto the form of the earth-born Jesus because as the Logos he has not yet been born as the incarnate Jesus (the Word/Logos made flesh per John 1:1). 


Note that biblical scholar David Hart translates John 1:1-2 thus: "In the origin there was the Logos, and the Logos was present with GOD,[a] and the Logos was god; This one was present with GOD in the origin." Thus, if I place the wording of Deuteronmy 32 and Abraham 3 into Hart's translation, things become clear: "In the origin [in the divine council] there was the Logos [who was like unto God], and the Logos was present with GOD [pre-existant with Elyon, Elyon being the most intelligent than all other spirits/gods], and the Logos was god [or a god, a divine being, as the word of Elyon's power per Moses 1:32]."


The Logos is the only bodily image of Jehovah as "the Only Begotten" (i.e. Monogene) and "word of [His] power" per Moses 1:6, 32. As Heiser explains, you have two Yahwehs (or two Jehovahs). So that Elyon and the preincarnate Logos then appear as identical personages (as two Jehovahs) pre-earth; so Elyon and the Logos are interchangeable as both are acting as the Father-Jehovah. In my view, Elyon appears as Father-Jehovah pre-earth, and then the Logos becomes the personage of the Monogene (incarnate resurrected Christ) and Elyon retains his personage as Father-Jehovah as the doctrine of the Lectures on Faith explain.
